Building Information Modeling (BIM)
VFP has collaborated on many projects with small and large general contractors on the viability to virtually pre-construct buildings. By utilizing BIM, VFP is able to maximize the value of pre-design by prefabricating our system components, which minimalizes waste in both material and field labor while delivering successful projects. The regular use of these leading industry CAD software platforms allows us to integrate the BIM process into almost any project.
Autodesk® Navisworks® is the software program at the heart of VFP’s BIM coordination process. With the capability to assemble 3D model information from multiple trades using various construction software platforms, Navisworks® has the required tools to detect collisions during the design phase of a project allowing us to increase field productivity that translates to lower overall costs. VFP has many more capabilities to perform 3D coordination and design by utilizing Bentley Navigator and Microstation V8i that many of today’s industrial construction uses as well as Autodesk® Revit® that is used in many large commercial construction projects.
VFP has an extensive history for using innovative 3-D design and Building Information Modeling (BIM) software in the construction industry. BIM is an integrated process utilizing a 3D & 4D models to better communicate design information allowing for multi-trade coordination, improved accuracy, clear documentation, reduced waste, and early decision making.
